Workshop details

We have some great workshops lined up. You will have a chance to sign up on Friday night or Saturday morning for the workshops you plan to attend during the afternoon.

Ping Pong – Led by Susan Pitt-Davis and Jan Timlin.
Canasta – Led by Barb Oelschlegel. Come learn and play this fun, easy to pick up card game.
Mission Slimpossible – Led by Mary Blake, Nancy Bower and Amy Lewis. Join us for an informal discussion of nutrition and exercise. Let’s talk about  how we can support one another in the journey to care for the bodies God has given us.
Signing in Worship – Led by Amanda Johnson. We’ll learn the signs to a worship song and be ready to worship God in a new language during the Saturday evening session.
BODYFLOW – Led by Mary Blake. This exercise class is a set of stretches and poses along with controlled breathing and concentration set to music. It’s mostly yoga based with a bit of tai chi and pilates. Bring a yoga mat or a towel.
Sacred Reading – ‘Sacred Reading’ is a spiritual discipline used down through the centuries to help people attend to God. This practice helps cultivate a deepening intimacy with Him. Through a slow meditative and repetitive reading of a short passage of Scripture you learn to listen to God’s Word as a love letter to you his beloved.
Essential Oils – Led by Emmie Beuhler and Sandy Neibert (friends of Martha Schmidt). You may have heard that essential oils have many health benefits, but do you know what to actually do with them? Come, have fun and learn!

Less than 2 weeks away!

The Women’s Weekend is less than 2 weeks away. The planning team is continuing to pray for the women who will be attending – for community building, for spiritual growth, for our speaker Libbie, and for God’s leading overall.

We have almost completely maxed out the capacity for lodging at Harvey Cedars! If you haven’t yet registered, please do so – and very soon we will only be able to offer “Saturday Only” admittance.

Anyone into coloring?

Ladies,
“Adult coloring” is in! We have added the joy of coloring to our woman’s gathering this year. Please bring your favorite coloring utensils- be it gel pens, colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc. to share and enjoy coloring as an optional activity. We will also have some materials to share if you forget.

Optional workshops during the weekend

We are excited to line up a few different Saturday afternoon workshop options, including (tentatively) sacred reading, body flow yoga, FAQ on using essential oils, sign language in worship, and a tea time. Other afternoon options could include crafting, pool time, walking along the beach, riding your bike to the lighthouse, or visiting downtown shops. Soon we will have a few of the workshop leaders provide some insight into their content on this blog.

Praying for the weekend

We are eager to see what God does when we get together this spring. The planning team has been talking, planning, praying, and sharing ideas through the winter. We look forward to being with you at Harvey Cedars in May.

Yours in Christ,
Carol, Debby, Jen, Kathy, Lise, Martha, Michelle, Nancy, and Sarah
